Rev. Emily Slade
I was born and raised in Evansville, graduating from Reitz High School and the University of Evansville. In 2006, I married my church-camp-boyfriend, and we moved to Durham, North Carolina, where I attended Duke Divinity School, earning my Master of Divinity. In 2009, I was ordained in the American Baptist Churches, USA, and I received dual standing with the UCC in 2014. My husband Mike teaches Organic Chemistry at the University of Evansville. We have three sweet and hilarious children: Caleb, Natalie, and Bethany.
I first came to Bethlehem in February of 2014 as the Minister of Children and Visitation. Since then, my title has changed a couple of times, but in September of 2019 I stepped into my new role as the Senior Pastor at Bethlehem. I have known Bethlehem to be a welcoming, generous, and faithful church family. I am excited to see where God continues to lead this church, and consider myself so blessed and privileged to get to be a part of this journey with them!
